The Beach House at High Point
High Point is our Scottish seaside home, perched on an elevated spot with spectacular views of the bay and surrounding countryside.
High Point is built on the site of the original holiday cottage, which has been in the family for over 40 years.
In 2014, the house was rebuilt for the future generations to enjoy for at least another 40 years of family holidays.
Inside the Beach House
Downstairs Living Space
The open-plan living area downstairs is a wonderful entertaining space, including a large dining table, kitchen, and lounge with a wood-burning stove.
The comfortable seating area has stunning views out to sea.
There is a wall-mounted LG smart TV, a DVD player and lots of DVDs to choose from. The kitchen is very well equipped with a Rangemaster double oven stove, fridge freezer, dishwasher and an abundance of crockery and utensils. A washing machine and tumble dryer are in the utility room.
Downstairs Bedrooms
Off the downstairs living room are three bedrooms, two with super king-size beds that can be split and one with a king-size bed. Two of the three bedrooms have en-suites, with the other having use of the family bathroom. Bathrooms have heated towel rails.
Upstairs Bedroom & Living Space
Upstairs, there is a double bedroom with ensuite and two lounges. One lounge overlooks the bay through a large cathedral window - a spectacular view. The other is northwest-facing and captures the evening sun with double doors opening onto a covered balcony. It is a perfect place to sip wine as the sun sets behind the Galloway Hills.
The Garden
The garden is large and child-friendly, surrounded by fields on three sides. The southwest-facing patio wraps around the house, great for alfresco dining. Several outside seating areas make it easy to follow the sun! We have a Webber BBQ for guests to use.
There is a pétanque boule pitch, a large sandpit with plenty of toys and a sizeable lawn for children to play. A climbing frame with swings is nestled amongst the trees.
A fully enclosed outside shower room with hot and cold showers, a wash basin, and a toilet is under the balcony, perfect for when you come off the beach.
